Works great and even better than advertised when it comes to cables.

Works great and as advertised. The only thing I would like to add to other reviews/FAQs is that at least for my laptop (a high-end gaming laptop with high-performance USB ports) I did NOT need to use an additional USB power cable that comes with the equipment. I was only able to connect the drive to a USB data cable, which is nice if I don't have to carry around two cables and pull them through every time I plug it in. Will not work on new Windows 10 laptops but will work on older Windows PCs

I bought this to use with my new Dell Windows 10 laptop. It doesn't work on my new 11 inch Inspiron laptop. I do not know. I even plugged it into a USB 2 port, however it works on an old Windows XP laptop. I'm not sure if updating the driver will solve this problem, but I see that this company also has a USB 3 CD and will try next time.

Great alternative to the internal drive.

It's not the fastest thing and didn't seem to work at one point, but I tried a different USB port and it works again. I like the portability across multiple machines. I mentioned my problem to the seller and I have to say that their customer service was excellent and well known. In an ideal world, everything would work perfectly the first time. CD drives, like anything else, can have occasional failures, but how those incidents are handled after the fact is what matters most, and this company…
