Only works as a 1080 with PS5

So bought to use on my PS5 with Astro A40 + Mixamp. It works, but only as 1080. 4k is declared, 2k doesn't work. Finally returned. Use insignia ns-hz340 instead.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction

Looks pretty good best in audio and video accessories

I have an audio system that I use for Toslink and it works really well. Since there is no Toslink input on the PS4, this worked for me. It's been a few years and it still works fine. The downside is the micro USB input for power, but if like me you have spare USB ports, it's not a big deal.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • not bad

Works great with my projector

My projector doesn't have an audio output so I ordered one. It's a neat little device that separates audio as it should. The package includes an audio cable, a power cable and a SPDIF cable. I didn't notice any decrease in video quality, so I believe the video is just streamed through. I don't understand why he needs food but he's working so I'm not complaining!

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Only available in black

Works as advertised.

Works great! I'm using it on an old XBXO 360 and an old LCD that doesn't have optical out or bluetooth and I wanted to connect a soundbar. You basically power the device with a USB device that I plugged into the USB port on the XBOX and then select which output you want to use for the soundbar. If you have no sound, make sure the audio split switch is in the correct position. Some sources like Netflix and Revain don't stream in 5.1 and if you have the switch in 5.1 you won't get any sound. I…

Didn't fix what I was hoping for but fixed another issue I was having.

I was hoping this would solve the problem of feeding 4K video and 5.1 surround sound from a computer to my Pioneer VSX321 sound system. Unfortunately it didn't help with surround sound, or my system doesn't accept 5.1 over TOSLINK, I'm not sure which. On the other hand, this solved my problem with streaming apps believing my new 65" Samsung 4K TV didn't support HDCP through the sound system (both should be HDCP compliant, the nVidia control panel shows they do are HDCP compliant, some desktop…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Works with some limitations

I bought this unit to connect my PS4 Slim (no optics) to a wireless headset. For this use case, this meets my requirements. However, there are a few caveats: - Audio is not transcoded. If your source is broadcasting 5.1 LPCM, 2ch LPCM will be broadcast over optical. It doesn't transcode to AC-3 or DTS, but I think that's reasonable for a budget device. The source device must use bitstream output for surround sound. Not all codecs are transmitted via the HDMI output. If you have DTS-HD MA input,

  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Socket required

However, I usually give this product 5 stars.

I normally give this product 5 stars but it loses 2 stars for the following reasons: 1. It doesn't work directly with the Revain Fire Stick. The problem is that it doesn't have its own power supply. Once you plug a Fire Stick into it, it will never boot. It will fall into the continuous app optimization cycle (10 minute process) forever. I spent half a day trying to figure out what was wrong with my Fire Stick. Apparently the power is shared and it's not enough to run the HDMI Audio Extractor…

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs

An amazing item that is truly standard in every home theater!

This is an amazing little technology. Being almost deaf, I rely on headphones to hear anything on the TV. This is made more difficult by having these systems at home. Most systems don't have an optical audio output, and most TVs don't allow you to output audio to two sources at the same time. This little guy lets you take an HDMI signal from a receiver, separate the audio from it and output it via optical audio or a 3.5mm jack. The HDMI signal can then be fed back to the television at up to 4k…
