Works with MinnKota Deckhand 40 windlass

Windlass anchor shackle will not fit through anchor eyelet. The solution is to remove the shackle from the end of the chain, thread the chain through the anchor eyelet, then attach the anchor shackle to the chain and make a loop of the chain that goes through the anchor eyelet. I hope the photo helps illustrate this.

Pros
  • Works on hard bottoms, muddy or rocky bottoms and grass/weeds
Cons
  • I will add later

good anchor. at anchor

Pulled a 24 inch tee like a champ. Durable and works well. big. I had a 3/8 inch swivel and it was tight; I had to bend it a bit. I used the smaller one for the chain to tie but use 3/8 or more for the top of this one, it's big. too wide for a 5 gallon bucket so need a new onion storage idea.

Pros
  • 40lb river anchor
Cons
  • Doubtful

Good Anchor: Anchor

Just bought an 18 lb model for use on the river we float on the pontoon. The bottom is very soft and muddy, you easily fall 10 inches while standing on it. I've only used it once but this anchor has a good grip and will last. It's a river, so there's always a current, and there was a decent wind, and we weren't drifting like we used to. (Note for reference - this is a 24" pontoon boat and I am using an 18lb anchor at the bow and stern). It had a few small dents when it arrived, but I don't…

Pros
  • Designed to use a combination of weight and mooring feet
Cons
  • Some small things
