Based on my experience, this external optical drive is a great investment for anyone who frequently works with computers. It provides a quick and easy way to make multiple copies of CDs or DVDs without the hassle of using a computer's built-in disc drive. The sleek black design also looks great next to any computer setup. However, it can be a bit noisy during the duplication process. Bought because health reasons required an easier way to rip family video DVDs than using a computer. The idea is good if the device works. I was able to make a duplicate; then the device started giving "Error" messages or hung up and stopped working. Several emails back and forth with the company followed. This is an EZ Dupe CD/DVD duplicator. It will be copied to DVD+R/-R including DL. It doesn't rip karaoke CD+G discs with graphics, only music. Copy-protected DVDs will not be ripped. You can use the buttons on the top of the unit to select tracks on CDs to create your own disc. You can also change the settings. They differ slightly from the picture.
