Must disconnect somehow as 90% of the time I plug the watch in it doesn't charge. When I unplug it and plug it back on 6 or 7 times, sometimes it charges and sometimes I can never connect it properly. The special charging cable that came with the watch works fine, so I know it's not a watch.

I like it very much! I didn't like that the charging cable was as short as on my vivoactive 3 watch and I liked the way it was laid out. When I received it the port was originally upside down so the clock was upside down then I saw on the pictures in the ad that you can change it so I just turned it upside down. It's a little harder to plug in, but it charges very quickly! Happy with it!

I've never been a fan of the Garmin charger because I had to put my watch on the front or side to charge. I've always been jealous of cute Apple Watch stands and when I found this I had to try it. I'm glad I did. While it doesn't "snap into place" like a Garmin charging cable, the Fenix 5 stays securely powered on and ready to charge and sync. I liked it so much I bought it for my wife and her Vivoactive 3 Music!

This is just a piece of aluminum shaped to hold the watch securely at a comfortable viewing angle. Of course you can use the included cable, but it will be short and your watch (if you're using your computer as a charging source) may get in the way. (I usually use a separate mouse). However, you can still see it and view messages, or it can be placed next to your bed. I have many Garmin devices that could theoretically use this item for charging and data syncing. I have no problems with the first and uneven success with the second. This is not a problem with the USB port. I've tried this item on different USB ports and have only had luck with data syncing from time to time. Again no problem. I was having troubles with the watch and charging because I didn't know how the connector on my Garmin vivoactive 3 was located. When I saw this I thought about it and tried another watch charging cable holder. There are no dice. So I decided to go with it. You can just snap it on and it will stay and charge with no issues. This review basically confirms that the watch works with Garmin Instict. I love this stand/charger, the overall quality seems really good. The stand looks very high quality and looks like resistant paint. My watch connected to the charger better than the Garmin cable that came with the watch. I've always hated how my watch connects, I had to tweak the connection to make sure it charged. Bought for my wife's vivoactive 3 and it has worked great for 8 months. She liked how nice it was to take the watch off and put it on the stand for easy use. It was much better than using the cable that originally came with the watch.
