Replaced this in a '06 Civic. The only important step is to make sure you install the spring correctly (it's a bit counter-intuitive). Look for help on YouTube. 5 minute repair and a lot less disruptive than a non-latching center console!

There is always a risk with plastic parts. It looks like the parts I removed but the pen was too small for the pen. I should have moved out, but I didn't, and one of the levers broke, rendering the parts unusable. Of course, there is no quality guarantee to test the pin hole to make sure the original manufacturer's pin fits. The part had to be rebored at the factory to ensure fit and function.

I bought this for my 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid. This item is very similar to the original Honda part but is not repaired. The small handle doesn't seem to go deep enough into the hole to stay closed. If there are small bumps, it jumps out and opens the lid of the center console. The grip hole size is smaller than the factory size, but that's okay. It doesn't come with a shaft and spring, so keep them. The hole is a little tight for the pole, but not critical.
