It was great while it lasted.

I was looking for a good grater that would easily handle Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and when it arrived and I tried it it worked great. He handled cheese with ease and seemed to do it effortlessly. Unfortunately it didn't last. Just last week (after 8 months of use) the friction drum rod broke off. The grater was never put in the dishwasher, always hand washed and dried so I don't know why. I don't see any corrosion so my only conclusion would be that the metal has softened. I will insert an…

Works but wonder for how long

Initially I was happy with this grater. It's better than the plastic and metal graters and graters I've used. I use it to grate an entire block of Costco parmesan, produce about 10 cups of grated parmesan in one sitting, and freeze the grated parmesan rather than collect, use, break down, wash, dry, and store. little worry. Decent stainless steel grater

As far as I can tell, the negative reviews of most rotary cheese graters come from people who love their micro flat grater but have inexplicably tried the rotary model. Yes, with rotary models you need to cut the cheese into small pieces - this is quite normal. This model has a decent funnel and compared to my previous plastic model it looks like it's a lot stronger.
