Farberware 6-Piece Professional Mandoline Slicer Set, White and Green - includes Storage Case Review

I was pleasantly surprised how well it works. I was a bit apprehensive when I pulled it out and realized how small it really is. but for me it was just right. I don't do much vegetable prep. So just the right size for my needs. When I first used this I sliced apples for a pie and I can say I was very happy with the results. has become perfect. it may not be much, but it works very well.

Now I've tried straws for potatoes, large radishes, onions, hard cheese and semi-hard cheese. They pair well with onions and semi-hard cheese, and probably go great with apples too. Something harder needs to be pushed through, which is dangerous even with a dull paring knife, let alone a mandolin. I was hoping to use this set for gobos (burdock) and ginger, but won't even try. can leave it for use with sound.

It's compact and easy to put in the bag that comes with it, which I really like. The guard does not grip the cut product well and often leaves the vegetables on the slicer. Cuts onions and carrots well. Two straws are good for carrots, but not big enough for potatoes. The grater is a fine grater and doesn't work well with softer cheeses like Monterey Jack or mozzarella. I'll use it for carrots, onions, and hard cheeses, but I need to find a more powerful mandolin for potatoes and a metal cheese

I've wanted a mandolin to lighten my lunch for a long time. I love veggie wraps, but slicing this vegetable very thinly has always been a chore. This mandolin made it easy!
