DOA I/O port cards in computers and accessories

Installation was easy but after the first reboot with it. The map is no longer displayed. Also, it didn't work perfectly, it just read some of my USB products. My Camlink would not recognize it.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Frequency

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The speed is very fast and easy to set up

This card is very easy to set up as it does not require an additional power cable. 5 ports on the map, if you look closely the bottom one is faster than the other 4 ports above. Still, all ports are fast enough for >200MB/s speeds (I used it to connect to 5 14TB WD drives).

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly

Works fine in my dl380p gen 8

Works fine in my dl380p gen 8. Windows Server 2019. Most USB sticks don't do this or leave the fans running at 100% all the time. It's not this card

Pros
  • Build quality
Cons
  • Contact seller

NOT USB 3.2 and NOT PCIe x4

I got this card for my backup server - HP DL140 G3 - which didn't have USB3 ports. I have a ZFS array connected to this computer via multiple USB drives, so the throughput of these drives will definitely be high. This machine has PCIe, but it's only PCIe v1.0, so getting a card that uses more PCIe lanes to compensate for the older/slower PCIe bus was important. I chose this particular card because both the pictures and the description indicate it is a PCIe x4 card and it appears to be the…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick guide

Good card; not quite perfect

The card installs fine in my 2020 Mac Pro with 10.12.6. OSX recognized it straight away and it works as advertised, no software/driver issues or tire jumps. The only issue I had was that the card is too short for the PCI mechanical latch to latch and not secure enough under the Mac card latch which screws onto the top of the card slot's metal shell, so you need to be VERY careful when connecting USB cables or you may disconnect the card.

Pros
  • fingers crossed
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Always died after 1 hour of writing.

Pretty sure this device has a firmware issue. In Ubuntu 20.04, this device always stopped working after 1-2 hours of continuous recording. Resetting the kernel doesn't work either, it's dead until the next reboot. lspci doesn't see it. Overheated? I don't think so, I installed it in the server and the PCI slots are heavily blasted by the fans.

Pros
  • USB port cards
Cons
  • Sad hardware

Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Good product! Looks good! Works well!

This provides 5 additional Gen 2:3.1 USB ports for your computer. It works as advertised. The description was a little confusing, but that's the nature of USB marketing. Otherwise it looks fine on my system and in my particular setup it worked plug and play. It's hard to find something like this when USB 3 ports are required.

Pros
  • Computers and Accessories
Cons
  • Don't Remind Me
