and it was easy, only one solution

Came to replace a hardened leaking factory distributor o-ring on my 1993 Toyota Previa. This has reduced the leakage to the exhaust manifold, but I still need to replace the valve cover gasket to completely eliminate the smell and fire hazard. It really helped and it was an easy and simple fix. Fits perfectly.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Description is insufficient.

Not the ring I needed. The product description should say "mounting ring" or something similar. There is an o-ring under the cap which is not included on a new manifold like this and is not included on a new cap. Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Something different

Watch a YouTube video showing how to replace it.

  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Mystery

This is what you need when you have reason to remove the manifold due to the old black o-ring becoming hard and brittle. In this case, the oil migrates to the distributor cap. In cases where the coil is in the distributor, the bottom contact of the coil will be down and the oil will short out the coil. This causes the car to stumble (at best) or just stall and get you stuck. If your car has driven over 125,000 miles and never changed, it would probably be wise to have someone pull out the…
