🔧 Fel-Pro ES71347 Water Pump Mounting Gasket: An Enhanced and SEO-optimized option Review

As my tests showed, this gasket failed in less than 6 months of use. While it initially fit well, the material just didn't hold up to the heat and pressure of my engine. The only pro I can mention is that it was easy to install. Overall, I would not recommend this gasket for any automotive applications as it simply cannot withstand the demands of a vehicle's cooling system.

The only thing better about this gasket kit than the standard kit is the metal flange kit. You don't need any more of it unless you remove more than just the water pump cover. Although it was worth it for me. Standard flange gasket is paper. It is metal with a silicone seal.

I purchased this gasket kit to: Replace the water pump and housing on a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500hd Duramax LBZ. The o-ring for the bypass tube (the one on top of the pump) is the wrong size (too big) - I had to buy the correct metric size o-ring locally. The seal for the oil cooler pipe was ok, the other seals did not fit. Certified Heavy Duty Diesel Truck Mechanic since 1988.
