Luckily there is this product

This product saved me twice when I extended my shower line using a copper elbow with a hinged grommet set too far into the wall. Shower arms on some higher models do not extend more than 1 inch. If the thread is pushed back further, use it and add a compatible trim (as it may be sticking out too far now). This item has a matching thread for a brass fitting. and a shower head.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Some bugs

Worked well for

For connecting a thermostatic valve (cheap) to our transporter. Convenient packaging as it is suitable for 2 entrances and an exit for the shower. Came with the required pads (and some extra). Use with Teflon tape, tighten well. Note that they must be from the g1/2 socket, which is a British standard and requires a very tight fit at that end. The other end has an NPT thread (there may be an issue with the shower hose thread, but it provides a tight seal).

Pros
  • . Best is
Cons
  • . There are other interesting options.

Bought a wall mounted kitchen faucet to replace an old one that was showing wear. Although the faucet could be installed, the existing pipes were too short to accommodate the appropriate flanges. I asked the plumber if there were any adapters that would lengthen the nipples about half an inch (whatever it takes). He said he didn't know and would have to cut through the wall to restore utility lines, which are estimated at $500. I told him to leave everything as it is and I went on the internet…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Inside is NOT G1/2, it's NFT, but the pucks are great.

The inside is NOT British Standard (G1/2) as shown, but American Standard Pipe (NFT). Upon closer inspection, the notch on the underside of each thread impression indicates that it is an American Standard fitting. When I visually examined the inside of the female part, I also came to the same conclusion. Connector specifications are misrepresented. In the written description, both sides of the coupling are referred to as male. So the description is contradictory. I have to say the…
