We bought this for a fiber metal welding hood my husband bought in 1971. Unfortunately, he didn't even come close. It's well made and just doesn't match his hood.

The headband gears are either off or the headband is not good but I tighten the headband on the head and it just won't stay tight, it loosens the gears in the middle of a weld.

The head strap gears are either off or the head strap is not good, but I tighten the head strap on my head and it just won't stay tight, it releases the gears during the weld.

This is a good lining for the best known hood. I was a bit frustrated that it didn't improve my welds. The old people I work with said if I buy a cane hood I'll finally turn it into a welder. I think when they sent mine it was the wrong way round and luck ran out before it got to me. Or it could have been a used hood and someone else used all their luck. But overall it's a nice device.

Honestly I shouldn't have bought this considering I bought another conveyor belt a year maybe 2 years ago and then suddenly this head piece broke for no reason. 5 stars because this head was an exact OEM replacement and fits great. Zero stars for the one that came with my conveyor. I've never had a hat that just cracked and broke and no it wasn't stressed. I'm not fat and I don't have a big head.
