Best to buy in testers

Got to me quicker than I expected. Worked great for my friend who does electrical stuff all the time. Came with a small pouch to keep it in!

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Works great - Electrics

I got a free device a few years ago during my apprenticeship and I was thrilled. I bought one to give to a colleague of mine. He likes it very much, he has tested it himself and is very impressed with the device.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Empty

Great tool! for testers

I like this meter. Has been in business for 50 years and has used this gauge for at least the last 10 years. I lost it and because it was so good for my application I bought it again. For HVAC service I have had about 5 different gauges in my career and this is my favorite.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Good but not great

No coincidence, but you already know.

I had to take this for class, I had a different meter but I decided to make the class work easier by buying the ones that showed us how to use them since mine is too was expensive for me and i didn't have all the features that this one has. The backlight and magnetic tape are a plus, the built in kickstand is good too. It might not be a casual knife, but for less precise work it's quite decent.

Pros
  • Consistent results when testing
Cons
  • Not the best

so easy to read especially when you are in a dark place

The good news is that it has a large screen, so it's easy to read, especially when you're in a dark place. The downside is that if you forget to switch the wire back from the capacitor gauge to voltage, the fuse on the board will blow. Fuses are not cheap and can only be obtained from field assemblers. It's easy to forget this when trying to fix an AC unit and trying to move on to the next call.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Weight

Damaged, defective, ignored for help

I bought this item for my work, I'm a maintenance technician. I needed this to test HVAC units. Highly recommended by my friends. I bought this item only to find that it didn't work. I've asked Revain for help fixing the issue but to no avail. They recommended I replace the battery, which I did but still doesn't work. So Revain contacted me with the seller but still no reply from them. So now I have $157 paper and I can't finish my work. No problem. There is no substitute. No return. BUYโ€ฆ

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Socket required

The ideal DVM for most applications other than beauty pageants

If you have a fieldpiece DMM for professional or home use, it's perfect for almost any type of maintenance job. I'm using a Fieldpiece LT17A which is just beautiful to the eye of the beholder LOL but does everything from voltage (including thermocouple), current including microamps, resistance, capacitance and temperature. A field element is about as hard to break as an anvil, and while I don't recommend using it as a hammer, it can work quite well. have the courage to buy a decent meter likeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Quick start guide

Good meter for the price

This meter seems to work fairly well and I've had few problems with it. The first problem is that the included ammeter accessory is connected by attaching wires to 2 probes in the accessory. This leaves the clamp open to some interference, and it can be difficult to get an accurate reading in hard-to-reach places. The other issue with the clamp is that after about 2 months of use the clamp has some sort of internal short where I have to pinch the back ends of the two wires together and hold orโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Updates available
