Works well, management is thoughtful.

Using a calibrated laboratory mercury thermometer as a reference, both thermocouples showed an error of 1 degree or less at various liquid temperatures. Both thermocouples are usually exactly matched to each other and never deviate from each other by more than a few tenths of a degree. This is a great tool for working with HVAC. And you will find many other uses for it. I didn't calibrate mine as I didn't need it right away, but you have that option too. The plastic case looks like cheap, tooโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sturdy rubber boot
Cons
  • Crumpled

Very fast and accurate :) Is there no backlight or bluetooth?

Like all of my Fieldpiece products, this thermometer is very fast and accurate. It also has a nice big display. However, I was surprised that it didn't have a backlight like all my other field instruments. This makes it very difficult to read in low light, especially when it's in a transparent protective case. single measurement only), and why isn't there a Bluetooth option so I can see the times on my Fieldpiece "Joblink" app like all my other Fieldpiece meters? ood inst, bad design

Ok I bought it for HVAC line temp but didn't realize it could only show temp. It's about as dumb as it gets if you want to see both temperatures without having to toggle with a button press. It's also not clear why they put a cutout (slot) in the top of the case that only allows for true mini connectors (0.31" thick), making it a bit harder to buy any pre-made K-Probe tool that might be there but the design is not user friendly in my opinion. I chose another item that had good reviews, was made

  • Good but not great

  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Only 400 degree Fahrenheit thermocouple included.

This is just a first unboxing review, I haven't put it through rigorous testing yet. First impressions. the device makes a solid impression. The instructions for use are molded in a plastic case and in a rubber (size?) outer protective cover. First test with "room temp" and both sensors, the meter set to T1-T2 shows an accuracy of 0.5ยฐF. (As I said, not a strenuous test.) However, I have found that the supplied K-type sensors Thermocouples do not operate at high temperatures and are limited toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Min/Max and Hold
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Bought to replace an aging reliable Fluke that gave up the ghost after years of use. Less than 5 years after my retirement I have decided not to buy an instrument that costs about 4 times as much as this one. However, it's true, you get what you pay for. As this is a new purchase I will update this review with any operational issues. It comes with a serviceable nylon case to which a magnetic or Velcro strap is attached. The case has a vinyl window that always tears or is too hard to see, twoโ€ฆ
