Description of Adjustable Bicycle Top Tube Adapter - FIERYRED Bike Rack Cross-Bar, Capacity 75 lbs

Universal Compatibility: This bike rack frame adapter by Fieryred is adjustable and is ideal to carry bikes with low or step-through cross bars such as ladies’ and children’s bike, or mountain bike without cross bar. Solid Structure: Made of forged iron with tough-as-nails, textured, e-coating for long-lasting rust, corrosion, abrasion and weather resistance, this bike rack cross bar can hold up to 75 lbs of weight to accommodate most bikes. Scratch Proof: The ends of this bike bar adapter for bike rack are a nylon/iron hybrid, preventing damages the top tube crossbar might bring to the coating of the bike while withstanding harsh use. Secure & Easy Removal: Copper release buttons at both ends are designed for secure locking, so the collar-arms won’t be unlocked accidentally. Just press them and you’re good to go. Light & Convenient: Weighted only 3.04 lbs, this top tube crossbar by Fieryred is designed to bring more convenience in portability, transportation and storage.

Do not buy any piece: bike rack

I bought this unit because other companies were out of stock. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. The locking lugs are difficult to press down so far that you have to carry a tool with you. The hose does not have a hose clamp. Take the time to research

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

CRITICAL DESIGN ERROR!

The bar is a great idea, but it suffers from a serious design flaw. The latch is attached to the handlebars with a rivet, which simply cannot withstand the stress of the bike hanging from the handlebars. Sooner or later (less than 10 transfers in my case) the rivet breaks and the rod becomes unusable.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Expensive

No way will it hold 75 pounds

I had to change the ends that move to hold my e-bike. I bought it because it was listed as having a 75 pound load capacity. . Almost lost a $3,000 motorcycle on an I40. I drilled out the rivets and used large screws to fix the defect. It works now.

Pros
  • Happy so far
Cons
  • It's fine

Terrible quality and design

This is terrible. They don't snap due to the length, the clasps are difficult to open as the buttons are too small to press and one of them broke on the second use. I paid more for her than a boyfriend paid for a Hollywood brand. I will return them and buy a Hollywood brand

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Crumpled

Broke on first use: Accessory

Item broke on the first day of my use on my wife's e-bike step. All metal construction BUT one of the main stress points is the RIVET. I'm glad I was careful enough to use a rope sling just in case. Of course the rivet failed and the bike fell, if it weren't for the rope I would now have a damaged bike. Requesting a Refund. I give 0 stars but have to have 1 to post it

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Disappearing

The rivet fails after some use

This worked a few times before the rivet failed as most other reviews say. My bike weighs about 60 pounds, so it's likely that the roughness of the road caused too much stress to the fault point. I glued the pole with tape, that was enough for one ride. There is no tension spring, so you have to rely on straps to keep the bar length from changing. In general, it's not very safe, so I'll look for another brand.

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Defective rivets on the locking ends. Dangerous to transport!

I need to warn other drivers. This product is dangerous. It was advertised as Heavy Duty for heavier bikes. The ends have a rivet that holds the lock in place. This rivet is weak, fails and breaks. I have used this bar 3 times for short distances on my stance. Yesterday during transport we noticed that my bike had changed its position on the luggage rack. We stopped and found the bike had gone down. We messed up to keep the right position. We are concerned that other people may not notice the…
