was not as advertised. Pass holes are 1/4" instead of 3/8" as described. I use barbless hose so I ordered 3/8" brass fittings to fit my hose. That negligence cost me $8 and a week to get the fittings the right size. I'm not the first to mention this incorrect description. Also the photo shows 4 plugs and there are only 2. not the best way to gain trust.

I have a 25 year old boat in Florida. Minor contaminants appear in the fuel tank over time, but these clog the small fuel filter in the engine. I bought this filter to solve the problem so I could see the pollution, separate the water from the fuel and just change the big filter when needed. Information states this item has 1/4-19 NPT threads, it does not have NPT threads. Spike /16, Couldn't find any NPT fittings that would work. Did some research and found that NPT is a 1/4-18 thread. It has a 1/4 BSP or British Standard Pipe 1/4-19 thread. The thread pitch is different so standard US NPT threads will not work. Very misleading description that NPT says. It works if you use the supplied threaded barbs, but they are screwed if you need to change the barb size like I have to do.

Complete replacement bolt on block on my 2007 Mercury 5.7 (carbureted). This block is smaller than the factory block. The screw holes are narrower, so I was only able to secure it with one screw (making a joint that would fix that). Be careful with fuel lines. If you don't have rubber fuel hoses, you'll have to bend those lines a bit (not much) to get them in place. I don't know about the cost yet, just stalled a week ago. Note that the hose adapters that come with the filter I received are 3/8 inch. I use a 5/16" fuel line so I had to buy different adapters but knew that beforehand and bought them with the filter. Tighten the hose adapters several times or they will leak. This is actually a good filter that is durable, compact and easy to see and maintain. BUT. it was unusable for my application due to the factory plugs. Instead of shipping all fittings (two male and two male) separately in one bag, the male connectors are shipped in a bag with male connectors pre-installed.
