I couldn't tighten the quick release skewer enough to be sure. The adapter rotates when a force is applied. Maybe it has more to do with my rack than the adapter. The adapter appears to be very well assembled and expected to work.

At less than half the price of big brand adapters, this one is even better. It has extra grommets to prevent the adapter from slipping out of the rack, thru-axle guides offer a more secure fit than my standard version, and the adapter has extra reinforcement. Felter is inexpensive and well made.

Despite bad reviews, I took a risk because I preferred the additional cross brace of this adapter to others. This is the ideal 100mm spacing for the thru-axle and QR mount for the bike tray. No problem with this felter adapter and in fact based on my experience I ordered the 15x100mm equivalent. Just make sure to order the right width and diameter!

Four stars because the welds could be cleaner and cleaner. Everything else is exactly as described and does exactly what I want and the welds do NOT affect functionality. But I'm familiar with MIG and TIG welding, the two most likely types of welds to be used in this case, and creating neat and tidy welds only takes about a minute per adapter. STILL VALUE AT THIS PRICE.

Unfortunately this is not compatible with the Rhino Rack bike rack and most likely most other roof top bike racks. Even when the quick release is engaged, you can still move the adapter back and forth. If I hadn't made a test landing, I would not only have damaged my bike, but probably also the roof of my car. Sure, it costs less than other TA adapters, but stick to the guidelines recommended by your bike mount brand.

I have a Thule fork mount roof rack but just bought a bike with a thru axle. Need an inexpensive way to adapt the roof rack to my new bike. I bought this part to fit a Yakima fork mounted bike rack after buying a new thru-axle gravel bike and I have to say I was hesitant, but after 5 hours of driving at highway speeds it hasn't moved! This works well with my recently purchased Trek Émonda SL 5 Disc Road Bike (2019 model), my first bike with a thru axle. I was concerned that the lugs on the fork would fit properly into the adapter's outer tubes and still allow the thru-axle to line up with the tube for a snug fit.
