Type of review

I recently purchased this 9" Kiritsuke and the 5" Utility knife and am very impressed with these wonderful blades.I have always wanted a Shun or Yoshihiro VG10 Steel Gyuto style Japanese knife for my kitchen, but my lifestyle had never lent an environment where I felt I could own a multi-hundred dollar kitchen knife and expect it to be all it was meant to be without getting destroyed by misuse, lack of proper care and cleaning, and a potential for it to just go missing one-day. Now, I'm…

Pros
  • Sharper than expected
Cons
  • merp. Husband broke handle while cutting pizza.

A months use: my feedback

So I wanted to wait a month before writing anything so as to see how these knives turned out after having them for a month, and I must say, they've proven to be really well built. Due to them being carbon steel instead of stainless steel, they cannot be left in water and should be washed and dried shortly after use. After using them on and off over the last month, they've remained sharp and has not shown any signs of rust or damage. So because of these, I will suggest these knives to anyone…

Pros
  • Still very sharp.
Cons
  • The knife may be too heavy for those with hand or wrist pain

8 Inch Chef Knife by Findking-Dynasty clad steel

First clad steel knife I’ve owned. Apparently if you don’t take care of it, it’ll rust. Similar to a cast iron pan I suppose. It’s nothing for me to clean and dry my knives before hanging them up.The knife is surprisingly light and is balanced correctly. It is very sharp. When I unboxed it, I bumped my knuckle lightly against the blade and was easily cut. I wore a bandage for three days until the bleeding stopped. I think if I were to bump it just a little bit harder it might have cut me to the

4.75 " Blade length for my opinion

Tech specs:Listed as 5" but it's really 4 and 3/4". This knife was much smaller than I expected. 1 quick rinse and I used this to skin, split, then slice an entire papaya, then break down some baby back ribs. I was very impressed. Excellent fit and finish. I will update in the future with a more detailed long term review. (pic info) From the heel to tip of the blade edge is 4.75", the overall blade is 5" but the entirety of useable blade edge or actual blade is 4.75" Personal noteI bought this…

Immediate impression

I am a knifemaker myself, so I can appreciate a quality blade. For the price of this knife, you absolutely cannot beat the craftsmanship. The edge is absolutely screaming sharp and very thin. The balance is great, but my gosh, the most surprising this is the level of quality control. The place where the blade meets the handle is absolutely square. The bushing that fixes the blade to the handle is brass; again, no slop. The handle is made from two pieces of exotic hardwood with the joint being…

Shipping is the only problem.

Don't know if the box was dropped/thrown in transit or what but when I opened it all the knives were sling together on one side of the box. A few of the edges are nicked and the black finish on one of them is a bit scratched from everything jostling in the box, nothing terrible but still really annoying.Comes with a neat display box, the corners protected with plastic on the blades, and a polishing cloth. Knives are really sharp out of the box, even cut part of the pad off my finger on accident

Pros
  • The ergonomic handle of the knife offers a comfortable grip, reducing hand fatigue during extended use
Cons
  • The blade may not be suitable for chopping through bone

This is a really nice tool for chef-work

Not that I'm actually a chef, but I've been sharpening blades for over 40 years now, so can attest to the qualilty of the steel and the edge; this one is good. Aside from working with Japanese woodworking tools, I've been a home-cook afficianado for awhile, and moreso locked-down during the pandemic. This knife was a personal treat since I've been chopping so many vegetables and cooking at home and trying out things.I'd recommend this blade with some confidence to anyone who just wants an…

(This is an edit. It's been a month of almost daily use. As long as you take care of this knife properly it's going to last you a long time. I'm still cutting boxes and zip ties at work. I also bought some ferric chloride acid and dipped the blade so the layers stick out more. It looks amazing. If you've got the time I'd suggest giving it a shot.I noticed you guys don't mention that there's a brass insert to strengthen the handle construction. You guys should definitely advertise doing that…

Great set for the money

I am very pleased with this knife set. Out of the box they were razor sharp. They have held their edge extremely well. They have a nice balance and fit my large hand well.Like any quality knife, how you care for it results in how well it lasts and maintains its edge. I only hand wash my knives and quickly dry them not allowing moisture to stay on the blades. A light wipe with oil every now and then doesn’t hurt either.I like these knives so much I purchased two more sets for my son and a…

Pros
  • Great knife sharp well balanced pleasure to use
Cons
  • I wish it had a thinner blade but over all it works pretty well

Razor sharp, great for home chefs and professionals

For the price this is a fantastic knife. It is visually striking and performs like a knife 3 or 4 times these price. I haven't taken it to stone to sharpen it yet, we'll see how it stands up after. I bought the 7" nakiri and after using it professionally for one day I am ordering the 4 piece set. Invest in a better knife if you have need, but for the proficient home cook or a professional who knows how to keep it properly sharp this is a best bang for your buck deal. I am ordering the 4 piece…

Dont try to sharpen yourself

I really liked the knife it is really sharp but don't ever try to sharpen it yourself if you don't know what you re doing. Apperantly it is not that hard at the sharp end and it can lose it sharpness very fast.

Exceptional all around

these are the first kitchen knives ive purchased in a decade. they arrived two days prior to this review, i typically wait a while to review the things i purchase, but these knives deserved an immediate review:first, the knives arrived packaged tightly within a sturdy box and the blades and handles were each separately wrapped in plastic, as well as the tips and rear edges covered with a small protective plastic to prevent damage to the box or knifesecond, they are very sturdy with a slight…

Cons
  • The knife may not come with a protective sheath for safe storage

Feel cheap good for me

These knives feel very lightweight and on the cheap side. They are very sharp which I appreciate and they are easy to use and hold. Also, I did not realize through the pictures that the blade itself is black on the top, which I thought was only shading in the pictures, But it’s actually painted black. I don’t care for the look, but these are easy every day knives so I will keep them.

Pros
  • 37.6 centimeters
Cons
  • The knife may not be suitable for filleting fish or poultry

Great knife. good for me

This is the first nakiri I've had the pleasure of owning. It's also the best kitchen knife I own. The feel of the handle and blade is good and I can tell that I won't need to take this to my sharpening stones for a while.

Pros
  • Once again, another GREAT knife from FindKings. Beautiful. Sharp. Beautifully sharp!
Cons
  • The blade may be too sharp for novice chefs to wield safely

Revainrating 4 out of 5

good quality best in my review

it is a good knife the only bad thing is that in two weeks that you go on it the edge has already .I liked the knife a lot but recently I was disappointed because the edge broke and that's not good for a knife I work in a restaurant kitchen and I was the one with the best knife and now it's just a broken knife

Pros
  • I love the visual aesthetics of the knife itself. It cuts with precision and easy to use. No complaints.
Cons
  • The knife may not be dishwasher safe
