This device saved the lives of my 4 children and my

Me and my 4 children's lives! I bought it as a backup for my expensive $200 unit that was hooked up to my home alarm system. I bought it because I wanted to put it upstairs next to the heater. Well it happened in the middle of the night and we left the house and called the police. They came and examined us, we had to give oxygen from the hospital! My baby (1 year old) and I had the highest levels and needed treatment. This device saved the lives of my 4 children and I. I don't think 5 stars is…

A good, quantifiable read.

I bought this because we have a carbon monoxide detector but it's just an alarm. It worked once, so I turned everything off, aired the house, and then carefully restarted everything. It didn't work again this season but I was concerned so I bought this to get an actual measurement. This alarm confirmed that CO levels were rising, but not long enough or high enough to trigger an alarm unless it was particularly cold and the furnace had been running for a long time. We now have a new oven with a…

Purchase for a small house. It works!

I live in a 160 sqm apartment. ft. I recently bought this machine because I knew I needed it. Last night I lit a three-wick candle, which I blew out just before bed, as I often do. I climbed into the attic and as soon as I started to fall asleep this device turned itself off. I knew it was the candle since I didn't have the heater on, so I unplugged it and opened the skylight. When I was free I closed the window and went back to sleep and slept peacefully for the rest of the night. The device…

Perfect direct replacement for the old First Alert CO400 battery pack

If like me you used the CO400 front pack with First Alert's old removable AA battery, this new version of the CO410 with display is a direct replacement and also uses AA batteries. First Alert have made changes to the current generation CO400 models, moving the battery compartment with the 9V battery to the rear while increasing the distance between the wall hanging hooks. I already had holes from a previous device so I needed something that was a direct replacement. This version of the CO410…

Faulty/poorly designed battery door latch - it WILL BREAK.

I bought three of these battery powered detectors because I didn't want to run extra wiring for the necessary protection. One of the features I liked was that the battery compartment on the front allowed for easy battery swapping. Being very careful and prudent, I took it out of the box and read the instructions twice to understand the features and installation. After opening the compartment to insert the necessary batteries, I broke the latches on all three alarm clocks. The locking mechanism…

Pros
  • Cool item
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

So I bought this PRECISE CO detector/alarm from Revain in December 2017. (The little Revain tag tells me when I last bought it.) I'm still using it. It's actually on a dresser in one of my bedrooms. It seems to work. I haven't had to change the batteries yet (almost 2 years) and it has never worked. But I want to share what I've learned after purchasing 4 different "retail" CO detectors/alarms (so I have another if one doesn't work as intended). All of those "retail" alarms available at most…
