Poor quality Poor customer service

The corks were dry and a little loose in the bag. There were some that were apparently used as wine spilled through the center of the cork after being bottled in the center of the cork when pierced. Our family has been making wine for over 40 years and due to a shortage at our regular supplier we gave this product a try. We will stay with Northern Brewer as they have more knowledge and produce the quality product they stand for.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Very good value for money

I would like to think that I am a winemaker who deserves quality natural corks. Not yet, but I've corked enough bottles to have an experience worth sharing, and that means THESE special agglomerate corks work well, are consistent quality, and have had NO issues with them to date. No leaks, no broken particles in the wine, no bad seals resulting in bad wine. They are very similar to the corks I used last year and having just popped one out after 10 months in the bottle and found it to be perfect

This is a sintered cork, not "natural" cork, but with proper handling they are easy to insert, seal and rarely leak. I find this cork size to be perfect for all bottles I collect and use, be they American or European. There is some debate among winemakers about how best to prepare corks for bottling. I've always soaked them quickly (5 minutes max) in a small amount of boiled water, covered them and…
