With these

I bought this for my four year old left handed child. She has a hard time practicing cutting with regular (right-handed) scissors. She could control them better.

Pros
  • High quality stainless steel
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Excellent first scissors

I am very glad that I found them in kindergarten. Toddlers who are learning to use scissors should definitely start with them. They are sharp enough to avoid disappointment without causing injury. They are very comfortable to hold. My little one loves them so much, she likes to run around the house with them and ask what else she can cut out. But that's not the case with the fiberglass scissors, which I gave away as soon as we started using them.

Pros
  • Recommended for children from 4 years old
Cons
  • Expensive

Not quite full control

I found these shears offered a little more control but not full control for all ages. I use them for kids who are experimenting with scissors for the first time or for low tone kids. In children with small hands, the fingers slip in the three-finger hole and a non-functional gripping pattern is created. For 1st-3rd graders these scissors are great, they fit well, the handle doesn't cramp and gives a little more leverage. Kids older than 3rd grade sometimes need scissors for full control due to…

Pros
  • Patented adjustable twist screw to change blade tension
