To set up the device I connected it directly to the batteries. But it doesn't get into setup mode. And so I couldn't specify the number of batteries or set it to turn off after 10 seconds. I think I'll just have to return it and try another brand.

Like all sensors, it's not necessarily 100% accurate, but once you use it enough you can "know" your sensor. Readings are good only when not under load (remove accelerator pedal to check remaining charge). I am very happy with the product (and the seller - fast shipping and great price).

Installation was easy and everything works as advertised. I think people are confused that it is rated for 12 volt lead acid batteries. If you have a 48v system you will need to set it up to show you have 4 batteries (12 x 4 = 48). If you set it to show 6 batteries because you have that, it will never show a full charge.

The instructions were a little difficult to follow. Most importantly, to change the settings, you need to press and hold the button on the back before plugging the terminals into the mains. Only then can you make changes to the settings using both the settings button on the back and the button on the front.

Installed on a kayak after I added an electric trolling motor. Works well, but don't throw away the instructions. 3 stars for "Ease of Use" because once you set it up it stays the way you want it, but there is a process you can change if you want. So if the instructions are thrown away, it's pretty easy to forget the steps you need to follow to change them. Basically satisfied

Nice looking counter. Easy to set up after reading the instructions. Unfortunately, that's not very accurate, at least not a loading indicator. The voltage indicator seems to work fine, but the charge indicator is everywhere. Reading 90% with a new, fully charged battery, then reading zero after 5 minutes of trolling motor operation. Too bad I wanted to like it but I need a counter that works.

Voltage is OK. I use it for a 36v golf cart with 6 6v batteries. This is rated for 12V batteries so I said I have 3 batteries equal to 36V. The problem is the percentages are not accurate. It says it's 80% when in fact it's 90% at the current voltage. Programming is easier than people say, just follow the instructions. When it says disconnect to save, I pulled it off the back of the meter.
