Fleck Bottom Distributor Basket 40922 Review

This is a very well made device. It consists of several segments that are screwed together, so it is not cast in one piece. I've had issues with other filters before but this one hasn't had any issues so far and I don't think I'll have any issues as it's so well made. If you replace the zeolite material, be sure to replace the filter with this one.

I have no noticeable pressure drop with this manifold. It's as big as the hole in the tank. There was some mineral build up in my tank and I had to grind off a tiny bit of the manifold to clear the obstruction. I could remove the carbon from the tank but if I break the tank it's a big problem, if I break this part it's a small problem. As a result, there was practically no sawing off of the protrusions in the lower part of the manifold.

I ordered this because while replacing my water softener filter media and valve head assembly I noticed the lower basket was cracked which has undoubtedly been the cause of water pressure issues for a long time. This allowed some of the filter media to get into the pipes/drain filters on the sinks in the house. Other reviews state what size Schedule 40 (if I remember correctly) is supposed to glue PVC to PVC glue. Also, if you're using a new piece of PVC, check how long it should be depending…
