Considering how inexpensive this thing is I was blown away by its performance. Works great for movement and flow, just no frills. It's plug and play, very simple and solid construction. There is a small plastic wheel in there which I think is for adjusting the flow but I can't change it so I had to use it in my large reef and not the small nano I bought it for. It would be overkill for that or under about 30 gallons depending on what you store in it. but you definitely can't go wrong for moola.

There are a few things I don't like about this power head. Little did I know that the pivot design is free movement with no connection to the support arms other than friction. This causes it not to stay in the intended direction, pushing the water as the force gradually rotates it. The cord is only about 3 feet long, which is very short. On a quick test out of the water, the power head also makes a horrible squeak and the rotation speed of the blades is uneven. I tried to save money with this…

What to expect. good spin, but cohesion is very unstable. A slight glance may shatter the "lightbulb" as it emerges. I'm really surprised it stays attached while I work. No big deal so far. In an aquarium I would be a bit more concerned because if it falls out everything in the tank that gets in its way will explode. I use this to add water for oxygen exchange in my 72 gallon bow tank circulate. I used this to replace a powerhead that decided to randomly start backwards half the time. This device is powerful enough to circulate water without creating a tsunami. My coolies love to play with the current. The device runs smoothly and starts in the right direction every time.
