Description of 🌱 Seachem Flourish Excel - 2L Bioavailable Organic Carbon Source for Aquatic Plants

CARBON PRODUCTION: All plants require a source of carbon, and Flourish Excel is a great and convenient source of bioavailable organic carbon. IRON PRODUCTION: Flourish Excel also possesses iron reducing properties, thus promoting the ferrous state of iron (Fe+2), which is more easily utilized by plants than ferric iron (Fe+3). PHOTOSYNTHESIS: Plants must produce longer chain carbon compounds (photosynthetic intermediates). By dosing with Flourish Excel you bypass the involvement of chain carbon compounds and introduce the already finished, structurally similar compounds. TREATMENT: On initial use or after a major (> 40%) water change, use 1 capful of Flourish Excel (5 mL) for every 40 L (10 US gallons). Thereafter, use 1 capful for every 200 L (50 US gallons) daily or every other day. For smaller dosing please note that each cap thread is approximately 1 mL. SAFETY: Flourish Excel is completely safe for fish, however, if you have Anacharis in an aquarium in which you are dosing Flourish Excel, then it is recommended to use it every other day rather than daily.

Good product, poor packaging

I've learned the hard way that when trying to treat algae you don't have to overdo it. This will kill your fish. Everything else works great. The Revain delivery wasn't the best. It arrived without a lid (there wasn't one in the box either) and the foil seal was slightly leaking. I think I only have 90% of the product left.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Out of style

Amazing, the best material for growing plants

My plants grew because of it. I use it on 2 different tanks, 1 45 gallon high light tank with pressurized CO2, the other 29 gallon low light tank. Both reservoirs showed noticeable growth after launch. I originally bought it to control black algae hair. Which he almost completely destroyed.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small house
Cons
  • Without automatic

Helps with beardweed

I bought this because I read that it helps with beardweed, I had a horrible breakout in my 65 gallon tank. I started dosing about 2 weeks ago and have seen a huge improvement. Algae covered the leaves and roots of my plants. It's light now and seems to be falling off, I've also noticed fish and shrimp eating it. I hope a few more weeks and it can go away, then I'll update.

Pros
  • Nice packaging

Great at fighting algae

I have a high tech CO2 tank. I had a black hair problem for many years before trying this product. This product does not affect my snails in any way, unlike other similar products. I didn't buy it for CO2 supplement. It has many reviews that it controls algae and I agree. My advice for better algae control is to stop circulation and only pipette damaged areas with the recommended dosage. Then wait 20 minutes and restart the pump. Then daily doses thereafter.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Good value for money, excellent product as expected from SeaChem.

The 2 liter Excel bottle is great value, especially if you have Prime. When I first got serious about planted aquariums I used an API Liquid CO2 product. When that was over I switched to Excel because I was in the industry and I knew it was a great product. The difference in plant growth between the two brands was immediately noticeable when I switched. As much as I would like to, I cannot currently use gaseous CO2 in my small and nano systems. Excel has kept everything in decent shape until I…

Worked very well for the first few months of the coupe, but then.

In my aquariums this lush greenery grew from various species of plants (I learned the truth from Petco a few years ago from my freshly planted aquarium, so I can't remember all the scientific names). I thought of giving them a boost and bought a 500ml bottle first which worked great for the first 2 months and the plants (especially the green moss on the tree stumps) became very lush and green. Nice! All guests have commented on my water green thumb. But then suddenly all the plants began to die

Mandatory for aquariums with plants and without plants.

This is a great algae killer for a planted aquarium. If you fertilize your aquarium regularly then you know that algae is a problem. Algae can absorb nutrients and carbon dioxide better than most plants. So it's not so much liquid CO2 as it is a product that controls algae and allows your plants to utilize the CO2 and nutrients consumed by the algae. That. I don't recommend the large starting dose that is listed on the bottle. I use the normal dose every day (75 gallons = 1 full cap. I've even…

Plants never looked better!

This product has done wonders for my tank. I have struggled with black beard algae in the past but have not identified the root cause of it. I've moved and installed a new aquarium and I'm having the same problem again! So I started researching and this led me to the conclusion that my planted aquarium was CO2 deficient. I recently added more light and my plants started to grow rapidly and BBA started to show. I decided this was the product for me and not a real CO2 line. I followed the…
