🚗 Enhanced Performance with Flowmaster 43041 40 Series Muffler Review

I was expecting a louder and deeper sound but can't complain about the price. I put two of these on 86 K20's with beefed up 350's.

I was researching mufflers and chose this one based on the part number. Best price I've found and best value for a new device is what it advertises.

I really don't like this product I just mounted it on my truck and I don't even feel like I have a Flowmaster I can even hear the noise in the cab , this is the worst Flowmaster I have ever bought. I'll see if I get my money back and just take a loss on the welding I had to pay for.

I bought this to replace my rusty stock muffler on my V-10 powered F-250. The build quality is excellent. Well welded with standard pipe. I didn't put any pipes on the exhaust side because I think that quieted the muffler too much. Even a small twist made it noticeably quieter, but that wasn't what I was aiming for, so it went on the fly.

I have a 1999 F-250 5.4 and this muffler alone made it sound 100 times better. Only muffler changed, everything else in stock. Just by replacing the muffler, the sound is much better. That's exactly what I expected for the price, and the growl of the original Flowmaster can't be beat.

While this is a good muffler and well built it is louder than I expected. I enjoy it most of the time and would love it even more if I was in my 20s, but driving around the neighborhood early in the morning seems a bit uncomfortable. I used a high flux coil and removed the restrictions in the Y tube so that may have affected the sound. Came with some damage to the intake so I just warmed it up and got it back to normal. It only took 5 minutes. The muffler sounds great, not too loud but has a nice deep tone. I cut a knee off the exhaust pipe and threw it in front of the rear axle. If you want it to be really loud I'm sure this will help remove CAT.
