🔊 Flowmaster 853548 Super 40 Series Muffler: Efficient Performance and Enhanced Sound Control Review

Rattles and makes an incredible noise. The Flowmaster has fallen into disrepair now that they are all made in China. Bought my newest Flowmaster muffler. The client is lost.!

Sounds fantastic on my 6.4 Hemi. It took 3 exhaust clamps and a 19" piece of 3.5" pipe. Quick and easy assembly by one person. I recommend applying several layers of high-temperature paint to it, flow pens usually rust after 2 PA winters, it is also advisable to remove the resonator.

Damn loud on cold start. It softens after warming up and makes a medium growl on my Chevy 2500 6.0L. Definitely louder than the Flowmaster Super 44 I had on my last truck. There's still a loud hum in the cockpit, but not bad. Not too noticeable with the rumble of mud rubber.

Turned my factory F250 exhaust truck into a real sounding truck. To be honest, my truck used to sound like a Geo Metro. It was a little awkward. After I cut out and replaced the factory muffler and a resonator with this one, it finally sounded like a real truck. Not crazy loud, just right. Next comes the woman's minibus.

This is a very soft muffler in my opinion. I called Flow Master to make sure I had an aggressive muffler that would sound great for my 2011 f250 6.2L v8 and I was disappointed. I left it for now as it was purchased from a local store. Just get Super 10 if you want aggressive sounds.

My 2021 Silverado HD 6.6L was equipped with Super 40. Sounds great at idle, but there's a lot of cabin rumble at times. So be careful, if you like a quiet cabin this is NOT for you. It softens around 70 mph, but between 35 and 50 mph it can make a lot of noise in the cabin. To edit. I ended up replacing it with an HD 50 series and it has enough noise cancellation to be able to talk in the booth. If you have a heavy truck I would choose the 50 Series HD over the Super 40.

My 2015 GMC 2500HD 6.0L sounded more like a Prius than a truck of its size. Super40 took about an hour to install and what a difference. I took the time to drive the truck without the muffler after it was added and it makes it sound louder and "rougher". Starts up loudly when cold, dies quickly. Not bad at idle, squeaks when accelerating. A disgusting rumble at 50-55, and at 75 it immediately subsided. Be prepared to have about 12" of extra 3-1/2" pipe since the muffler is shorter than stock…
