Flowmaster 2.5 Inch Inlet/Outlet 50 Series DF Muffler Review

Installed on my 04 Dodge Dakota 4.7l. Sounds amazing, lots of grunt with a little hum. I get compliments from passengers all the time. Idling sounds cool and throaty. After about 9 months the welds are showing signs of rust but nothing major. Excellent silencer. The 30/17 muffler fell apart at the intake. rusted. Only 3 years Flowmaster?

Great price and loved the sound once installed. Everything changed about six months after I heard a rattling noise when starting my truck. The audio got worse so I went back to the shop that installed it. After inspecting and removing the muffler, it turned out that the flow baffles in the muffler were defective. So if you want to buy two mufflers in less than a year, start here. Much luck

It's hard to believe I was able to buy a Flowmaster muffler for only $100 in 2013. I installed this on my 2008 Toyota 4Runner which comes with a 4.0 liter V6 engine. It's hard to choose a muffler for a V6 at the risk of sounding terrible. I also removed the rear resonator. The sound is certainly louder than normal, but not too bad. It is not uncomfortable and worth buying. I have used this muffler in combination with some other minor performance modifications. It just exceeded all expectations.

build quality and finish are typical Flow Master and definitely five stars. However, I was very disappointed when I installed it on my 1996 F150 5.0. it sounds a hair's breadth from the stock muffler that I removed and replaced. To be honest if I had installed it myself before the master and went to that truck I would have thought it was a stock exhaust.
