Works as it should. in automotive and automotive electronics

Everything is fine. Installation was a hassle, it's more about where I placed it than anything to do with the camera. Just a lot of steps to twist and turn the image into position, and then tighten it again (and again) because tightening moves it. I used tape to secure it in place and then finally tightened it. The image looks a little red, but I haven't adjusted the monitor yet. The old camera was the same and after replacing the monitor everything was fine.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • 0

This is my second of these cameras which I bought to install in the trunk and use as a rear view camera. The first had a shattered lens when the glass shattered and water got in. I replaced it with a new one and the glass cracked on this one too. This happens during normal driving on non-ideal roads. So now this camera lens will fog up all the time and affect the performance of the camera. Businesses must have spare glass lenses for them as they are too fragile for automatic use.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • new competitors

Basic automotive electronics camera

I have this camera as a secondary camera for my system on my SUV. The image is much grainier than my original camera, and while sharp enough, it doesn't like the night. It's useless for viewing from any distance, but should be fine up close, e.g. when attaching a pendant etc. It cannot be rated more than 3 stars due to the grainy image. Used it for about 6 months in harsh conditions and still works well. The lens is quite large, making it easier for water stains and dirt to hit it. a large hole

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

universal car backup camera mount

I bought a radio tape recorder with a rear view camera option. This little device is hooked up to it and works great. Daytime use is fine, but there are problems at night, but if you have good reversing lights it should work fine for you. A hole saw was included to drill the hole in the right spot. I installed mine in the center of the rear license plate. It also helps when attaching trailers to my hitch. My truck is very high so I can see well when reversing, especially in public parking lots.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Works great but has some downsides.

I was very happy with everything about this set except for a few things. To power the camera, you need to connect the vehicle wiring. The wire is very thin and very difficult to work with. I have a set of small wire strippers that aren't even small enough to strip the wire properly. When I finally stripped it with wire cutters, twisting to coil the wire and connect it to another wire resulted in some of the wire's individual strands breaking. I had to use another wire which I connected to it…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Thin

UPDATED: NOT WATERPROOF

Not a bad little camera, especially for the price. My only complaint is that I wish it didn't have IR LEDs. Once a film of dust or salt gets on the outer lens (which means all the time on my bumper), the film reflects IR light back into the camera, rendering it virtually unusable. Otherwise I'm very happy with it. ------------------------------------------------------ --------- - ---------------------- ------------- --------Updated March 22: I tried two of these cameras and none lasted more…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • A lot

So Far So Good - Car Safety & Security

I just installed this camera and I don't know how long it will last but will update this post if anything changes. The picture is more than sufficient. during the day, but I do notice a slight flicker when I hit bumps (I can turn on the camera whether I'm reversing with my Pioneer sat nav or not). The flickering makes you wonder if it will last. It more than lives up to its purpose as a reversing camera. It is not designed for filming or anything like that. My Observations: I've tried verifying

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Weight
