Not as good as expected.

It does the job well but to be honest I prefer the cheaper Dremel tool for the job simply because I change bits quite often when carving. Dremel bits are a lot easier to change and I don't need two separate tools to do it. Also, the flex bar on the foredom breaks easily if I twist it too hard while carving. I didn't have this problem with Dremel.

Pros
  • This is amazing

  • Some little things

The gold standard in force

. IMHO this is the gold standard of a rotating shaft tool. It's essentially a portable "mini router" that has been used by jewelers since its inception. This kit comes with a variety of collets and attachments, including sandpaper and tape. Bonus - DVD carving of birds, fish and other useless objects. I use it with a MicroFence base for furniture liners. Wood, Argentinium Wire, Abalone, etc. Consider guitar inlays and this is the instrument you need. The new models are better than the old ones,

It helps make woodworking fun.

I work with inlays from time to time and use many different approaches from knives and hand chisels to a Dremel at the base of a router. Feeling the need to improve the process and try power carving, I picked up a used CC Foredom model which, when combined with the right bit and cutter base, performed better than the Dremel but still took some punch performance was lacking. Department. I tried an outdated Model S, which turned out to be a cheap knockoff; not a true American Foredom. That was…

A real pro tool

I've tried 2 Dremel tools over the last few years and finally learned something about rotary tools. As a hobby blacksmith and farrier, I use it for metalworking. as a tree. However, this kit came with the grip I wanted and was cheaper than buying individual parts. While it doesn't deliver the same high top speed as a Dremel, I've found that with the torque this motor can provide, you generally don't need the extra speed to get the job done. I don't want to withhold anything from a Dremel…

  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Great price

Amazing tool

I've kept debating whether I should buy this one or stick with buying a Dremel (again). I had a Dremel a few months ago, used it briefly, then took it back to the big store (orange) because it wasn't powerful enough for my project/task. Fast forward a few months and then I'm in a situation where I need a different rotation tool. I searched for "best dremel/rotary tool" and a forum post mentioned Foredom. I had never heard of them before and decided to check them out. Wow. I can only say…

  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Obsolete model
