Excellent 5-pc flatware set

The flatware set I currently own was purchased as an 8-piece setting for under $100. It was cheap. It is also functional but is not as high quality as this single serving set which would cost $239.60 for a service of 8 at its current price of $29.95 per 5-pc single service.Overall, I think this set is very well made. It is heavier, stronger, and in most cases larger than my current flatware set.For instance, the dinner fork, dessert fork, and knife are 1 inch to 1-1/2 inches longer than my…

Pros
  • nice set but the forks are narrow and small compared to the other pieces
Cons
  • Not what I thought they would be so IReturned them. They were very sturdyAnd durable.

Excellent quality, but I don't like the makers mark

To set the stage - I've been using the same Hampton Silversmiths "Bistro" flatware set since 2000, and I've been very happy with them. While I did start perusing flatware off and on about a year ago, I'm in no real hurry to replace them and not prone to sing the praises of just any nice flatware that comes my way. That said, these utensils are quite nice and I'm happy that I was able to audition them. Style is all personal preference, and you can likely tell from the pictures if you like that…

Pros
  • They look good.
Cons
  • Product is fine. Package not suitable for a gift. Can you make this right before the wedding?

Not worth the cost for my opinion

Pros - Very sturdy. Could probably pull up the tile on our marble counter with the spoons. Weighty aka hefty. I like the heavy feel, but some may not. I read one review of someone getting fatigued while using heavier flatware. Really? If your hand / forearm gets fatigued eating, you're eating too much.Cons - Shipment came damaged (UPS' fault - surely, so I am not docking for this). Seller responded quickly but was unable to ship out the missing knife in a timely manner (issue I am also not…

Pros
  • Beautiful set. We love this flatware. Have received many complaints.
Cons
  • I thought it was the same as the one I already had and no! I didn't like the finish, it's horrible

Well crafted, simple, and elegant

This is a well crafted set, simple and elegant aesthetics, that feels substantial in your hands. You can easily visually distinguish the 18/10 nature of this flatware set.A_E

Pros
  • Fortessa /Schott Zwiesel
Cons
  • The fork is not sturdy and can fall apart easily

Heavy Metal on my review.

I think what I like best about this set is that it's stylish in a simple way that could appeal to both men and women. However, the pieces are all big and heavy, which means little or weak hands wouldn't be able to handle them well. The knife has some serration on the upper part of it, which works fine in most situations other than cutting tough meat. Also, there's a maker's mark on the pieces, which strikes me as odd. Maybe high-end flatware all has little marks? If so, you can guess where our…

Simple Elegance: A Fortessa Bistro 18/10 Stainless Steel 5 Piece Flatware Set ReviewAs a chef, I've worked and eaten in fine dining restaurants where Fortessa flatware was used in the dining room. I never paid attention to the brand, but recognized the utensil's stamped logo. Even though I recognized their quality, I've never considered purchasing Fortessa flatware for home use opting instead for an inexpensive Oneida flatware set.The Bistro pattern is elegantly simple with two raised lines…

Pros
  • Bistro pattern is classic and contemporary; designed with a banded cuff at the base and top of each handle; balanced bold weight
Cons
  • The weight and balance of the Fortessa Bistro Stainless Steel Flatware may not suit everyone's preference

Beautiful with timeless style

This set arrives in a long box with the flatware wrapped in a study plastic sleeve. The set has a lovely shine. The Fortessa name is engraved on the knife with smaller symbols on the other pieces. The style is not quite contemporary and not antique either. The pieces have a sort of timeless style. They have a nice weight overall with the larger fork maybe a little too heavy for my taste. Due to the somewhat rounded handles, they do not stack as well as my other sets. The set is a little pricey…

Pros
  • Dining & Entertaining
Cons
  • The fork may not fit in with formal or black-tie dining settings

Beautiful, very well pkged, and fancy

I usually do not review my purchases however, this Fortessa set of four place setting is no joke. I believe that the utensil strength and durability of the bistro 5 piece 18/10 highly polished silverware is among the finest quality. I searched for a long time for the perfect set that would not break the bank. This is the ultimate deal, a great value. I'm not sure yet of the product as far as the corrosion some have mentioned and will update this test review in the near future.Signed:Very…

Pros

Service for ONE in my review

I was populating my kitchen for the first time (I'm a new grad) and I didn't realize this is only for ONE set. That being said, it was my fault for misreading and the product was top notch. Considering the price for one set, it better have been top notch.

Pros
  • Classic and beautiful
Cons
  • The serving fork scratches easily and can become unsightly

Two months in, and still love this flatware

I first bought a set of this flatware from a higher-end store (my mistake for not researching first) and loved it so much I came back to get another (and discovered them here). These are a great addition to my kitchen, which desperately needed replacements for the dwindling remnants of a set I had for 20+ years. The weight of each piece is excellent, and trust me - unless you're seriously obsessive, you completely forget about the little stamps after about a month.

Pros
  • 9.6 ounces
Cons
  • The design of the Fortessa Bistro Stainless Steel Flatware is too plain and unremarkable

Nice features! for my opinion

This is some super shiny silverware! I thought for sure there'd be issues with water spots or fingerprints, but that hasn't been the case at all. These pieces have a wonderful weight to them, heavier than my current full set but not obnoxiously so, just right! The length lends a nice balance in the hand too.I love how easy it is to stab my salad with the forks! I hadn't even realized by current set was so blunt until I tried this one.The only downside, I don't like the mark/stamp (not sure what

Pros
  • Sleek and Stylish Design
Cons
  • The fork may scratch delicate china or ceramic plates

Exceptional feel, high quality product

As a long time Oneida Flatware fan, I'm quite particular when it comes to flatware. My kids would laugh at my preference to use par

Pros
  • We love this silverware. Love the look, quality, and design.
Cons
  • The price of the Fortessa Bistro Stainless Steel Flatware is exorbitant

Good Quality Flatware

This is a very nice set of high quality flatware with a touch of class. It feels solid and clearly stands out when I laid it side my side-by-side with my existing flatware. The flatware is highly polished with the brand logo engraved on the back of each piece. This would be great a showcase piece for adding elegance to our dining table and giving as a gift to friends or relatives.

Pros
  • 18/10 stainless steel: greater resistance to stains and rust, superior shine
Cons
  • The fork can rust easily if not cared for properly

GREAT BRAND OF FLATWARE

FORTESSA is a solid and usable set of flatware. Very shiny, almost looks like sterling silver, heavy and well balanced. Nice everyday flatware. Really happy with this purchase.

Pros
  • Sturdy and very nice material, especially for the price! Would highly recommend!!
Cons
  • This was labeled " bistro " but was a different style.

Like a fine hotel! on my review.

I love this bistro set. They remind me of flatware used at a fine hotel in Dublin Ireland. They feel substantial and are a good value compared to WS.

Pros
  • Dishwasher safe; Fortessa brand and/or mark on each piece
Cons
  • The fork's design is not unique or memorable

These are not what I expected.

For the money I spent, I’m not excited. These are not bad pieces, but they are inconsistent with quality. From a performance standpoint, they are totally fine. From a value for money, wildly disappointing. I bought these months ago, because I didn’t want to miss out on the pattern. This, has been a mistake. I bought these because a restaurant I enjoy had them and I needed a new set. These are not even close to what was at the restaurant (even though the chef d’cuisine told me the brand and the…

Pros
  • Great looks, nice weight, elegant flatwRe
Cons
  • The fork is not dishwasher-safe and can take up too much time to clean

Just what I was looking for!

I've seen this silverware in an upscale restaurant for years. Finally saw the owner & asked for details as to where to buy. She could order place settings for me but I decided to look on Walmart & surprise it was listed. Ordered it at once & love the style, weight, length & sturdiness of each piece. I'm extremely pleased with my purchase & received it quickly through Walmart. Plus it was packaged beautifully & was perfect when I unwrapped each piece. The only downside would be I can't find…

Gorgeous flatware at great price on Walmart

I saw this flatware at a specialty cookware store in CA, and thought it was beautiful but expensive. I started looking around online to price shop and found this set at Walmart for a great price. Love the understated style and weight of the flatware. It's shiny and held up in the dishwasher. We use it everyday and for guests. I bought service for 8 but thinking about going back for 4 more. Very pleased with this purchase.

Pros
  • 360Degree design - design appears on front and back on every piece; polished fork tines for long wearing use
Cons
  • The fork's appearance may be too modern for traditional dining settings

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Top quality silverware

I use this to stir ingredients into my yogurt. A fork is the fastest way to mix the ingredients, unless i use an electric mixer.

Pros
  • Durable and Long-Lasting
Cons
  • The fork's prongs are too short to use effectively

Beautiful! - my new review

I don't think I've ever written a review this fast. This set is beautiful. The weight is nice, I love that it's 18/10 and the style is great with my modern plain white dishes. Almost too nice for everyday use but I'm going to use them for that anyway! They do have a logo stamp on them, which others have noted, but frankly, I think it looks kind of cool and I don't think it detracts from them at all. A very nice purchase and I might even have to get another set to round it out. Highly recommend.

Pros
  • The handle of the serving fork is designed to fit comfortably in your hand, making it easy and comfortable to use, especially for extended periods
Cons
  • The Fortessa Bistro Stainless Steel Flatware is not suitable for casual or everyday use
