The lens is great in some aspects and terrible in others. Choose this one if your budget is low and you don't have better options Pros: Great price, you can't get much less than $28 for a 1.7 lens again, insane for the price, gives great bokeh build quality, surprisingly all-metal lens , feels good Easy to focus, Ring rotates easily and holds position Excellent low-light performance, again thanks to the aperture Cons: VERY soft edges, so what, what's not directly in the center of the frame is…

Pros
  • Please note that this lens is good for portrait photography but not for landscape photography. The sharpness in the center is good, but the edges are soft. Shift lens
Cons
  • unreliable

It's worth it.

This lens is amazing, especially for the price. I just got my feet wet from this whole photo, got a Sony a6000 earlier this month and am trying to figure out how to get decent results. I didn't really like the whale lens (mainly because I'm not very good with it) as it seemed pretty boring to me. I really like the bokeh effect and had trouble reproducing it. I've seen this lens and the examples given and for the price it was easy. I've only had it for a few days and play with it non-stop. I…

Pros
  • Focal length aperture 35mm f/1 7 - f/16 - close
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

ABSOLUTELY theft, insane bokeh, amazing sharpness

First, let me say this: If you're hesitant to buy this lens, DON'T THINK, JUST BUY, PLEASE YOU WON'T REGRET IT ! Especially at such a low price! It's funny how good this little piece of glass is. Serious. I photograph a variety of things, mostly nature, animals and sometimes people (and soon cars). This lens is great for all three and more. I use it on my Sony Alpha A6100 and the photos I was able to take last summer were some of my favorite shots I've taken since getting my first camera last…
