The pump I replaced had too much flow for the fountain and too much spray. This pump is relatively small but provides enough flow for my 3 tier fountain. The less splashing, the more the birds like it. They drink longer and take a bath. The new pump has been running 8 hours a day for 3 months with no problems. My previous pump lasted about 3 or 4 years on the same usage schedule so hopefully this one will last just as long.

Does what the seller says. I checked the feed height and it pumped a continuous flow up to 5.5 feet. I use it on a 33 inch tall open fountain and run it on the lowest settings.
