1998 XJ 4.0L with the best engine cooling and air conditioning

Fits perfectly on my 1998 XJ 4.0L and despite previous reports of leaking service ports, no connections are flowing out of these ports. Installation went smoothly, this manifold hose came with all the necessary gaskets/O-rings and was actually a Goodyear "Galaxy" A/C hose. Made in China, YES, but looks well built. Only time will tell as to its longevity/longevity.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model

Revain's auto parts selection got it wrong again.

Good quality but not good for 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L engine. The low pressure line is too long and the fitting on the accumulator does not fit properly. The equivalent part number for the 2000-2001 Jeep Cherokee is 56521. The correct part has the shorter low pressure line (larger diameter of the two lines).

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Annoying

There was only a 5 star rating when I looked at

I bought the hose, haven't installed it yet. But I will return it. I just spent over $500 on a brand new air conditioner for my 99 XJ. That I've been looking for a body in this good shape for years. There are no more problems because of a bad cheap valve that should not have been used at all. So I'll find another one before the air conditioner guy calls and raises the install price.

Pros
  • . Finally bought
Cons
  • Style 90

good hose, bad Schrader valve

Installed on a 1999 Jeep Cherokee 4.0. Comes with all o-rings which is nice. The fit was perfect and it sealed immediately. The lines do not use the same Schrader valves as the OEM and the shredder used on the low pressure side is too high. The gauge hooks pushed too hard and damaged the new Schrader valve. This hasn't happened to the OEM and shouldn't happen with a new kit. I went through the whole process of vacuuming the system and filling it with coolant. Thought I was almost done. The air…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Some minor issues

RUN FROM THIS HOSE!

BEWARE OF THIS HOSE! Same as last reviewer (one piece Goodyear hose but faulty Schrader valving). This "new" hose made me tear my hair out troubleshooting and ended up destroying $200 worth of air conditioners, IMO. This week's evaporator flush, b4 installation of ANOTHER new compressor, condenser, dryer, choke tube/tube revealed orange oil throughout the system (orange oil/liquid indicates excessive moisture ingress into the system). The fact that you can't just swap the valves is complete…

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • No mold required
