solves headless machine problems with teamviewer

We run headless Linux machines with Teamviewer. Usually you need a connected monitor for it to work and display a full desktop. This solves this problem and allows us to place machines in cabinets and access them remotely. easy to use and works great

Pros
  • hardware accelerated high-resolution remote desktop access, supports resolutions from 800x600 up to 4K (FREEGENE VGA Stub Maximum 1920x1080 @ 60Hz, HDMI and DVI Maximum 4096x2160 @ 60Hz, DP and Mini DP /Thunderbolt 2 Maximum 3840 x 2160 at 17 Hz);
Cons
  • Nothing here

It's no problem to use them for a remote computer!

First set up the computer with one or more physical displays, complete all the necessary steps, and then disconnect the DP cables and connect them to the DP inputs. Then connect to your computer remotely and make sure everything works. Turn off the computer and put it where it should be, in my case the server room, then start it up. I had to connect a USB mouse to use it in a remote session (HP Remote Graphics Software). But then it works like a charm!

Pros
  • OS and software independent - works with Windows, OSX, Linux and just about everything else;
Cons
  • Long Shipment

Does what it's supposed to do, just as promised!

I was able to use this to access more screen resolutions on my headless server when using remote desktop connection. My only concern is that I hate the blocking part of this stub, which sometimes makes it difficult to remove from the server when the button is on the restricted side where I can't reach my finger to press it.

Pros
  • Appears as a headless phantom display in the operating system graphics properties window for easy identification among other displays;
Cons
  • Updates

I was able to use this to access more screen resolutions on my headless server when connected to a remote desktop. My only concern is that I hate the attachment portion of this stub, which sometimes makes it difficult to remove from the server when the button is on the restricted side where I can't reach my finger to press it.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

They work great

They do exactly what they're supposed to do, they make the graphics card think it has a monitor connected that can display all possible resolutions. This allows headless PC remote sessions to run at any resolution while the graphics card remains active. The only thing to note is that they have standard DisplayPort locking tabs. The button on the side has to be pressed very hard to pull them out again once inserted. That's why I docked a star.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

It's no problem to use them for a remote computer!

First set up a computer with one or more mental monitor screens, complete all the necessary steps, and then disconnect the DP cables and connect them to the DP inputs. Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
