Only works well when used with a pad

At first I hated this blade and almost returned it as it broke the material. It went through a piece of plastic and hit my knuckles pretty hard. I figured you would have to hold the plexiglass with a piece of wood and have the saw cut a bit into the wood. Freud should provide some guidance in this regard.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Not automatic

Excellent blade, my second. The first lasted several years with regular use.

I use it for cutting acrylic, I probably cut hundreds if not thousands of yards before the first blade showed slight signs of plastic melting. I saw this Revain for a good price so I just bought a second one. I could still sharpen the first blade, but it costs almost as much as a new blade.

Will not work on brittle acrylic

Attempt to cut .060 acrylic with this blade. Tried to move very slowly and the acrylic split along the cut leaving a bad unusable edge with a few pieces missing. Similar to every other carbide blade I've tried. I think I need a blade with more teeth and a narrower mouth to cut brittle plastic. This may work for some plastics, but not the plastic I'm trying to cut. Disappointed but what appeared to be a good blade, like all my other Freud blades, just didn't match the material.

Pros
  • Heavy duty construction
Cons
  • Returnable

Revain no longer lets testers post videos, search the internet for kUGLigZ9lYw and you will Video likely to find I have been cutting 1/8" ABS with Amana blades for over 20 years. My process is to cut 5"strips from one piece just over 30" wide. This means there is only a small excess of plastic on the last strip, about 1/2 inch outside the blade. Never had a problem with it - the Amana blade cut the last strip just like the rest. But recently I decided to give it a try. some other blades and I…

Pros
  • Nice to use
