I really like this bit. It has the narrowest kerf you can get from a cutter, and the top bearing can't fall off while you're mid-route and mess up your part. I use it to cut grooves (for blind tongue and groove joints) in cabinets with a jig.
This is a good fixture but be sure to check the set screw on the bearing mount! When my nozzle jumped over the template I was using, I found that the set screw was missing. Damaged the rim of the walnut I was working on. My guess is that the set screw was loose and fell out. I never found it. The bit works great when the bearing holder is installed correctly.
gives a 3/16 protrusion. 1/2" bearing, 5/16" bit. After reading the description and doing a little math it's easy to tell, but words don't even escape the fact. Quality product with poor description. I went to Freud's site, the source of the problem. The pictures show the correct profile and the words say it's flush. Low "accuracy" corresponds to the description of the profile.
