I got this to get straight edges on my boards. Super cool racket, very strong, very sharp. So far I'm very impressed! I will update later when I use it for a long time.
This bit was boring and pretty awful right out of the box. Not sharp enough to cut 1/16 inch softwood without significant tearing. Very disappointing and waste of money. Next time I will choose the best brands.
Came in a reusable plastic case, sharp and well made. Every Freud tip I used left a clean cut that required little to no grinding. A little pricey at first but they last a long time and then quality again. I should spend less time grinding.
The bearing broke after the first hour of operation. The package will be returned to Freud for warranty service. I'll update this review once Freud responds. (50-118). Update: 12/12/2017 - Freud requires me to cover the shipping costs both ways. CA for NC costs almost a bit.
Ordered this bit to trim the curved edges of 8.1-1/2" diameter Sapele furniture legs. Sapele is a fairly hard, variable grain wood that had my unusually wide curves. Works perfectly with no unusual noise or vibration. Very smooth cut with no flutter or breakage, even with my variable grit. Even cut through open slits with all edges remaining sharp. Read some reviews that say the bit could be "stubborn". ". I don't find this part exciting, but the setup certainly could be. When milling freehand…
Quality milling cutters at a good price. I often use stock bits to clean edges and level boards. While I would love to have a spiralizer for cutting cherry wood, this works great for almost everything I do. I have a collection of Freud tips and I find them to be consistently high quality and durable.
We have a countertop workshop. We needed a beat that was sharp, reliable, and worked with templates. This beat has everything we needed and expected from our beats. Clean cut, no traces of vibration, the bearing runs quietly despite heavy use. I would definitely buy it again and in a different size. Freud has not let us down with any of their products. I bought this to flush cut some edges at the top of the railing. This is a great lure - very sharp, well packaged and very powerful. A few thoughts: First, it's big. I work with oak so it is very grippy and you need to hold the router securely. Curly cuts are not recommended but can be captured the other way around. The speed of the router should be high and try to make small passes. Second, if you rotate around the collar on the vertical axis on the last pass, you will leave a groove or davit…
