High-quality replacement blade for my Freud planer.

The blade is a good replacement for the dull blade on my old Freud jointer. Cute nice clean slots without burning wood. The instructions in my owner's manual were completely wrong. Actually it was much easier.

Great Carpenter's Blade

Works great in this carpenter's machine I bought here from Revain which has an absolutely horrible blade. https://www.amazon.com/Gino-Development-01-0102-TruePower-Biscuit/dp/B00Z804LAW But with this blade he turned that cheaper carpenter into a great tool. No more burning wood and easy to cut leaving clean holes.

Thinner than OEM blade.

Freud makes great products that we all know. This blade cuts as it should. Unfortunately, this is not an exact replacement for the blade that came with the Porter Cable panel connector. It's thinner on the body, the cutters are the right size. Since the plate was thinner, I had to modify the insert mandrel bushing by grinding it down so it could be tightened enough to hold the blade in place.

Fit and Forget

First I have to explain that finding the hole size of this blade to fit my Porter Cable Jointer by looking through my puck collection took some effort but one thing One day it fit and works locked. , the thing is cut almost effortlessly. I have a Dewalt jointer and by comparison it cuts with a blade but without the efficiency and precision that this thing offers. The value for money was excellent. Other replacement blades are 2-3 times more expensive.

second plant? on Power Finishing Tool Parts & Accessories

I bought one of these a few months ago to replace the original blade on my Dewalt cookie maker. I have been working almost exclusively with circular saws for many years. The blade I received was uncoated, unlike in the photo, but in the original packaging. I was disappointed to find that the blade is either too thick or not flat resulting in the grooves being about 1/32 wide. I've been a professional carpenter for over 35 years and have been using planers since Dewalt first came out. .

Inaccurate workmanship, poor quality

Biscuit is primarily used for alignment and fit. A tight fit is crucial. The Fried Corporation doesn't seem to be able to keep up with the exact tolerances, or they just don't care. The slots on the two Frued cookie connector blades I purchased were so large that the cookies would float in the slots making it impossible to build tightly and accurately. I had to send them in and the grinder would regrow the carbide tips at a cost in excess of the cost of the blades themselves. I think you get…

Excellent saw blade for joinery

After reading reviews about the fit of the Porter-Cable 557 knife (which I own), I bought this blade anyway. Using vernier calipers, I measured that the blade is about 0.01 inch thicker than the nut and flange can hold. Mandrel spacers can easily be obtained pre-cut for use. Personally, I used a piece of polyester-backed sandpaper, which doubles up easily, cut it off and lightly pressed it. A round metal spacer, 0.875" in diameter, about 1.1" OD, and 0.02" thick would be great to add to the…
