Description of ๐ŸŒฒ Precision Forester 16" Freud PB 0025 Inch

Hardened Steel Body - warrants a longer life and sharper cutting edge. Ultra Sharp Spur - ensures an accurate hole and resists โ€œwalkingโ€ on material. Steep Angled Cutting Edges - produce holes that are smooth and flat and create โ€œchisel-like "curls for fast, clean chip removal. Quality Forged Construction - instead of casting, strengthens bits for extended life.

Nice clean cut with no sticking

Bought to replace a blade from a cheap set I inherited. The cheap one blew through, and while it smelled nice, it didn't really help the project. This Freud bit made a great clean cut without burning.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Something different

The bit is shorter than the photo and it says

Why does the description say the product is 1" x 3" x 7"? The overall length of the 7/16 die is about 3 1/2 inches. I was counting on a 7" nozzle. It turned out to be longer compared to other sellers.

Pros
  • . Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Must be sharpened/cleaned before use.

The 7/16 bit I ordered had huge burrs on each sharp edge. Maybe usable, with enough power to turn it and a lever to drive it through the woods. With a magnifying glass and some small whetstones I cleaned up all the edges. It looked good then and felt sharp. A test cut in a piece of walnut made a hole that fits the .438 gauge pin nicely, so it's pretty much accurate after you condition it. Satisfy my needs.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
