Great filter solution! I have now read in the description that the TDS reader will not be accurate as this filter leaves behind the necessary vitamins unlike other filters which remove them. This filtered water showed 119 and my tap water showed 142. I'm not sure if that's good or if that number is still too high and if all the dangerous chemicals have been removed. I really liked the idea, but after looking for the characteristics of filtration, they were not found. I had an NSF/ANSI 42/53 filter. As it stands, Frizzlife either doesn't live up to that or hasn't been tested, so we'll never know. The 0.5 micron carbon description suggests it would be the same as filters using this material, however we do not know if Frizzlife contains only a tiny amount and therefore may actually be ineffective. 10 year old filter system needs to be replaced. The feedback from Frisslife was generally so positive (and we liked the idea of just replacing the filter instead of the whole plastic case) that we decided to go with this product. update: the terrible experience is over. The filter works great and looks very good. It took me a few days to recover from the injury of having to install half twice, but it's not the seller's fault someone at the distribution center dropped it and the parts were damaged. In general, my situation is very different from a 'new' house with no existing under cabinet water filter. The house we now live in was upgraded with our built in Amway water filter which is now over 20 years old and everyone in the house is fed up with the poor filter quality. Since Amway stopped selling replacement filters I could only find aftermarket filters that weren't of the same quality, plus I suspected all the dirt on the faucet and I'm pretty sure the lines weren't that clean either.
