Highly recommended! best in the cutlery & knife accessories category

Bought this bread slicer to replace one of the same design which lasted me about 20 years before one of the hinge pins finally broke. You can easily cut a loaf of homemade bread in a few minutes, everything is nice and even. I use an electric knife with it. I hope to have 20 years of it too!

I love it! - Cutlery & Knife Accessories

I'm the original absent-minded professor, which means I'm a "dump". I should have a car to bake my bread, dammit. This incision is simple and works. And even a clumsy guy like me gets presumptuous, beautiful pieces. It helps to have a very sharp serrated bread knife, but even I remember it.

Pros
  • Very Impressive
Cons
  • Long Wait

works fine for the most part. Approximately after a.

works well in most cases. After about a month of use, one of the sides won't stand up on its own, so you'll need to hold it up. At first I thought it's ok I should still hold the bread, but it actually makes things a lot harder when you cut off the last third of the length since your hand gets in the way when you hold the broken side up.

  • Easy setup

It was sad to change it

I have been using this type of cutting guide for over a decade. My last one eventually broke completely and wouldn't snap back into place. In addition, 2 A-pillars were missing. It was sad to change him, we spent so many wonderful years together. However. *throw*. This new one actually feels sturdier, and if it can last 10 years on its predecessor, all the better. Highly recommended. pro tip. Get a good electric knife (8 to 9 inch blades). You get slices of consistent quality.

Plastic is easy to cut good for the kitchen and dining room

This is my first food slicer, so no comparison. I chose this product as it had evenly spaced cutting slots and seemed easy to clean/maintain as it is one piece. I've only used it for 2 small sourdough loaves so far. The knife easily cuts through plastic. A little worried because who knows how much of it will be swallowed. Otherwise I like constant spacing, if you want a bigger piece just skip the row. It folds easily for compact storage. So far that is. Working.

  • There's something to it

Finally even slices of bread

This is the perfect guide to slicing bread (at least for my use). It's slightly longer and taller than my homemade loaves and is spring loaded to hold the loaf in place. I use a Cuisinart electric slicer to cut slices that are almost perfectly even and only about 5mm thick (20% less than 1/4 inch) - perfect for toast or sandwiches. It is easy to use (leaning the knife blade against the rear guide), even down to the last piece of crust. When it's done, it can be thinned out so any parts that…

Not worth the time, effort or money

I was excited when I found this. Due to the Covid pandemic I had to bake gluten free bread last year. My bread is delicious, but I would like the slices to be the same thickness as store-bought bread. Unfortunately, this gadget is NOT the answer. The tines loosen as the bread is sliced, causing some slices to be thick and others too thin. Worse than cutting yourself. I tried to slice the bread very carefully because I've seen reviews where people said there were red plastic chips in their…

Reliable and accurate guide to slicing bread

A few days ago a package was waiting for me at my front door. The package was heavy and I couldn't figure out what I ordered that weighs so much. Inside was a bread cutting guide. I was surprised as the cutting guide is almost entirely made of plastic. I had a loaf of bread with raisins and walnuts on hand, so I put it in the cutting guide and tasted it. The slicing guide was stable on my table and it was quite easy to evenly slice the bread. Attached photo is the result. Pretty good cut, if I…
