Worth a try! on Drawing, Painting & Art Supplies

When I first bought this I wasn't very good with brush pens. The only one I had before was the Pentel Pocket Brush Pen. I loved it and it was amazing, it was just difficult for a beginner to use and frustrated me. Because of this I decided to try this one! I found the hard tip of the brush attractive as it would mean more control. and it was! Not to mention that it's a lot cheaper than Pentel. To be honest I was disappointed at first because I just suck. After a while I got used to it and will…

Not as impressed as I thought

I really want to love this pen as I've read rave reviews about it. Although the pen came in brand new packaging, I felt it was a bit dry when I received it. Even holding correctly, I didn't get a sharp black line like I expected. I had to go back and fill in the parts where the ink wasn't as greasy. I thought it might have something to do with the type of paper I was using, but I've tried this pen on several different types of paper and got the same results on all of them. I will say that it is

  • So far so good

Not very soft but not bad

I've been using this pen for a year and a half and it's slowly running out of ink. It's not my favorite pen, but it was a great tool for learning the basics of brush painting. Despite the name saying "soft tip," the tip is firmer than almost any other brush pen I've tried. This makes it a lot easier to manage when you're just starting out and also makes it a good choice for people who tend to press heavily on the page while writing. If your hands are shaky, you can also draw straighter lines…

I received a dried up pen that I could not return.

I received this pen through Revain Prime with same day shipping. My excitement about using it quickly evaporated when I realized that it was already quite dry. I couldn't swipe down because the ink was cut off and parts of the paper were left white. The pen was obviously defective, but neither was it eligible for a return or refund. It was very unfortunate because I know several other artists who have successfully used these Tombow Fudenosuke brushes. I also love all the other Tombow pens I…

Pros
  • Create very fine, fine or medium strokes by varying the pressure of the brush
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
