Lightweight and versatile for any shooting situation - Weighing in at just 11. 82oz, GF50mmF3. 5 R LM WR weighs less than a can of your favorite of soda. This makes it the perfect companion to bring along with you for your next street photography expedition. Quick, responsive, and near-silent autofocus - Having fast and quiet autofocus is critical when you’re roaming the streets looking for that perfect image. A good lens but too expensive for a simple optical design.

Not a bad lens, pretty sharp and very compact for its size. However, it is too expensive for such a simple design with a single aspherical element. I would wait for a discount or use it. Hopefully someone like Sigma will release a first for this format and bring some real Fuji to it. Edit: February 2020 I told you it was overpriced! Now it's 50% off (HALF PRICE!) - and it should have been from the start. Fuji is clearly cheating early adopters. Beware. Honestly, I'm repelled by them as a…

Pros
  • GF50mmF3. The 5 R LM WR consists of 9 elements in 6 groups and includes an aspherical lens to minimize spherical aberration and barrel distortion. Engineered for sharp images, rich tones and very little focus blur, this lens is ideal for both still photography and motion capture.
Cons
  • Low maintainability

It's just wonderful!

I bought this lens precisely because its focal length is equivalent to 40mm. If you've never photographed with a 40mm (equiv.) lens, you should note that it's closer to 35mm than 50mm in terms of frame setting. Wider, but not too much, and closer to the human eye than 35mm or 50mm (equiv.). This lens is fast for a GF lens and even sharp. The f/3.5 produces nicer bokeh than I expected and doesn't interfere with my creative process in any way. This lens is ideal for street or environmental…

Pros
  • Fast, responsive and near-silent autofocus. Fast and quiet autofocus is essential when you're roaming the streets in search of the perfect picture. That's why we made sure this lens also has a linear motor to quickly and precisely move the focusing element into place.

Medium format pancake lens

In many ways this is the older brother of Fuji's latest FX27mm. It is unpretentious, light, does not stand out (strongly), but visually it is not bad. There have been a few reviews that will tell you the lens isn't perfect, but I certainly haven't seen anything in the resulting images to object to. All the functional parts feel good: autofocus is fast enough, adds little to the weight and bulk of my GFX50R, aperture ring stays where you set it, smart little hoods that do their job and it claims

Pros
  • Lightweight and versatile for any shooting situation. Weighs only 11.82 ounces, GF50mmF3. 5 R LM WR weighs less than a can of your favorite soda pop. This makes it the perfect companion for your next street photography expedition.
Cons
  • Annoying
