Ideal for engines and engine parts

Meets expectations. After Jiffy Lube failed to tighten my oil filter and flooded the underside of my Subaru, it was time to change the oil myself for less money. Easy to install and does not leak. My hands will thank me next time I change the oil.

Pros
  • Follow FUMOTO torque specifications. Always mount adapters with insufficient torque
Cons
  • No performance

A must have for every Subaru

All I can say is that it saves time for Subaru self oil changer. It is easy to install and still no oil leakage. I've seen comments that you should use Subaru's gasket, but the gasket provided is adequate.

Pros
  • One touch control
Cons
  • Not the best

Reliable, convenient.

Must be original equipment on all vehicles. Comes complete with locking tab and gasket for a tight fit. One note: if you want to connect a hose, choose the long nipple version - it is very difficult to securely connect the rubber hose with the "short nipple" versions. .

Pros
  • Eliminates stripped threads and frozen spark plugs
Cons
  • Secret

Great upgrade for do-it-yourself oil changes

Makes it easy to change the oil on my 2009 WRX. It doesn't protrude from the factory sump, so I'm not too concerned about bumps. The locking clip provides reassurance that the valve won't open accidentally, but I doubt that's a big deal. I've used it for 12,000 miles and 4 oil changes with no drips or leaks.

Pros
  • Remember to tighten at the body, NOT the nipple
Cons
  • Parts availability

Buy now! best oil drain plugs

I can't tell you how USEFUL this valve is! Why does everyone hate oil changes? For this reason - screwing a hard-to-reach screw, rinsing in hot oil and fuss. When I installed this valve, life changed, like replacing Chinese chopsticks with a fork! :) Now changing the oil is damn easy - turn on the tap and voila - clean hands and all the oil in one bucket. No more dirty hands and tools. HIGHLY RECOMMEND to buy this valve - now you will be PLEASING to take care of your car! Needless to say howโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Any problems or questions, please contact FUMOTO.
Cons
  • So far so good

Good fit for 2003 Subaru Forester

Got this for a 2003 Subaru Forester. (I also have a 2015 Forester F108S, so my rating is basically the same for both.) I do my own oil changes and when I do, the oil always ends up in my hands. Oil splashes, but at least I don't. So I replaced the oil plug with this and it's much cleaner and easier now. holds the tab in place so I guess it doesn't accidentally open. I have the S model as the long nipple is more easily damaged and no nipple allows me to use hoses. As long as I like it

Pros
  • Short nipple for lowest possible profile
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
