Smooth Ride with Hyundai Struts

These struts provide a noticeable improvement to the overall ride quality of my car. They absorb bumps and potholes with ease. Installation was straightforward and hassle-free. My only complaint is that they are a bit pricier compared to other options in the market. Overall, highly recommend these struts for any automotive enthusiast looking for a smooth ride.

Pros
  • Easy and quick to install in Hyundai vehicles
Cons
  • Only compatible with Hyundai cars, limiting its use for drivers with other vehicle brands

Creak. Creak. Squeaks

Both shock absorbers squeak on even the smoothest roads. Since they were both new I figured I had a different problem but after some troubleshooting I removed them and found the noise to be haunting. The top seal at the point where the rod enters the damper body dries out and creaks as the rod moves up and down; A small amount of oil on the piston rod will stop the squeaking for days. Revain's customer service was great and sent me a new pair for free.

Pros
  • Replacement Parts
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

Shaft Guard Required

The shock absorber is supplied in a box with the parts shown along with two rubber bushings and large metal washers. However, it does NOT come with a COVER/Sleeve to protect the metal shaft from sand, rocks or other debris thrown from the tire. My original damper for my 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe had a trunk and still worked fine. But at 11 years old and over 100,000 miles I decided it would be a good idea to change the dampers. Shock absorber technology has probably improved in the 11 years sinceโ€ฆ
