Great idea and economical it will work

I bought this for a job where we need a little more range - I can't get it to work for more than a minute. I work with electronics so it's not difficult at all. When I have everything set up and try within a few meters it seems to work fine. You move 100 meters and nothing works. I've tried different frequencies but it just doesn't work.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • I'll add it later

I bought one of these devices to test and.

I bought one of these units to test and to be honest unless you order 3mm ferrite chokes to attach to the cable it doesn't work. The connecting cables must be unshielded and the RF from each radio renders the whole thing unusable. 3mm latching ferrite chokes will cost you a few dollars more. I'm sure shielded cables wouldn't cost much more in the manufacturing process, otherwise they'll work. mike

Pros
  • Permanent Test Results
Cons
  • Weight

Cable Needed Feature Color Code

The device works well enough, but I need cables for ICOM IC-A3, WOUXON DV8R, ICOM IC-H16 and phone jacks for high performance mobile phones with 8 pin Connections. I have schematics for the above, but I don't have this repeater. Until I cut the cable and open the block (which is my last resort) someone has the cable color + function chart so I can make my own cable for the above. I'm more concerned about compatibility with my gear than voiding my warranty and wasting time trying to figure out…

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

The ideal solution for a short range repeater.

I didn't know what to expect but it didn't disappoint. Easy to set up, 2 radios connected and tested. The sound is clear, no difference was found with this built-in device. The transmitter's start-up delay when receiving a signal is less than half a second. I didn't check the battery life, but the battery was in the box. some charge in it and worked out of the box before I plugged in the USB to fully charge it. I have connected 2 Baofeng BF-888sa radios to it, my UV-5R also connects well to my…

  • Quality construction

Edited, doesn't work. Do not buy

He does what he has to do. Just not super good. It works very well for its price with a few minor changes. I taped the inside and the seams (the panel was removed very easily) with copper HF tape. Also, RF pinch protection devices were installed at both ends of the power cables. I also bought a 2 pin extension cord to push the radios further apart. distance is your friend Now 1 Works in Home setup. Drive more than a mile, it stops working. The normal simplex literally works better. There are 0…

Pros
  • DC 5V External Power Adapter Professional manufacturer with low power consumption.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

I'm really divided on this topic. On the one hand, it grounds the wearer and switches the radio without the need for VOX, perfectly. On the other hand, no results are available because the two radios cannot be spaced far enough apart to have a range of more than a few hundred feet. Huge desens problems, even duplex for me. It could never work well enough to use. It would be nice if the included cables were about 15 feet long and had ferrites on them. However, the tone detection and radio keypad

Pros
  • Powered by two built-in lithium-ion batteries, 72-hour lifespan.
Cons
  • Minor problems

2 antennas and a duplexer are required for operation.

IF you would connect this to two radios using the rubber ducky antennas that came with your Baofeng AND use a longer interface cable between the two radios on a stand on a hill or mountain, then it COULD be a useful simplex repeater, which you can adapt to your needs. Otherwise, unless you are in the mountains or hilly areas of the world, you will either need to use 2 longer antennas on the mast OR install the duplexer built into this unit (which of course allows using an antenna). I have this…

Pros
  • Real-time duplex repeater with radio link. Allows the user to change the DTMF radio remote control password.
Cons
  • Good, but not great
