Boring but if you hit it hard enough it works great

No and strong, easy to hold and hit with a hammer. Just the right size. I removed the star because it also has to be one of the dumbest leather racquets I've ever used. Time to get out my sharpening tools.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Even works with neoprene

I used this for 6mm neoprene and it worked great. Slightly different than the leather, had to hit a little harder due to the rebound of the rubber but I get exactly the clean cut I was looking for. Cuts a perfect circle out of hard-to-cut material!

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Working on tires! on Leathercraft

I ordered this for a one time use to puncture rubber seals on a truck. These bands also had a thin strip of metal. The product survived all 10 hits I took. I chewed on the blade a bit considering I pushed it through rubber and pewter. But it did my job.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Needs hardening to keep sharpening but not bad for the money.

It wasn't very sharp when it arrived and after it was used to stamp felt pads it lost its low sharpness. The steel was very soft, as if it hadn't been hardened at all. So I sharpened the punch a bit with a grinding wheel and then tempered the steel in my forge. It now cuts through 1/8 inch thick rigid felt with a single hit of a 2 pound hammer without hitting it. A word of caution: if you decide to try the same thing and google how to harden steel, google tempering as well. You must harden this

Pros
  • Freehand
Cons
  • Very expensive
