only has the basic functions of a do-it-yourselfer. Other testers have more features than my pay grade allows. The only thing missing is a beep to check for continuity.

Installing a 9v battery is ridiculous. After that it's easy and great for offline use like mine. but damn, it's really hard to take the case off. I have two of these and both have the same problem. that they fixed the problem, my fault. but after that still a good product.

This multimeter is a piece of junk. There are no instructions and installing the battery is next to impossible. You have to go to the internet for a useless manual and it's in such small print that you need a microscope to read it. To insert the battery you have to disassemble the device, which I didn't do because you have to open it with a tool and I didn't want to damage it. Do yourself a favor and get another one. I go to a hardware store to really see which one I want to buy.

Just received, unused. The 3200's product description (duplicated on Revain from the Gardner Bender website) states that it comes with a "magnetic tether". FALSE ADVERTISING - THERE WAS NO RIBBON IN THE BOX! Just got off the phone with a UK representative who confirmed that the strap was not included when the unit was refurbished. Pros: It tests voltage (AC and DC), resistance (ohms), continuity, temperature, has a diode test and autoranging. Pretty good looking, reasonably well built, has a rubberized protective cover, test leads are surprisingly decent (encased in nominal values marked on the wire which is unusual for cheap wires), the thermometer wire looked decent too. Cons: Autorange is a bit slow. , the rubber case adds bulk and it doesn't fit in my toolbox nearly as easily as my old GB GDT-200A without the rubber…
